How to use the date calculator

Our free date calculator has two modes: calculate the exact difference between two dates in years, months, weeks and days, or add and subtract years, months and days from any date to find a future or past date. It's useful for calculating deadlines, project timelines, contract periods, pregnancy due dates, and any date-based planning.

How is it calculated?

Date differences are calculated by finding the exact number of years, months and days between two dates, accounting for varying month lengths and leap years. The add/subtract mode shifts a date forward or backward by a specified number of years, months and days, correctly handling month-end edge cases.

Frequently asked questions

How many days between two dates?

To find the number of days between two dates, subtract the earlier date from the later date. Our calculator does this instantly and also shows the result in weeks, months and years simultaneously.

How do I calculate a deadline date?

Enter your start date in the add/subtract mode, then add the number of days, weeks or months until the deadline. The calculator will show you the exact date the deadline falls on, including the day of the week.

How many working days between two dates?

Our calculator shows total calendar days. To estimate working days, subtract approximately 2/7 of the total days (for weekends). For exact working day counts excluding bank holidays, you'd need a dedicated business day calculator.

How do I calculate someone's age from their date of birth?

Use our Age Calculator — enter the date of birth and today's date and it will calculate the exact age in years, months and days. Alternatively, enter both dates in the date difference calculator.

What date is 90 days from today?

Use the add/subtract mode, enter today's date, and add 90 days. The calculator will show you the exact date 90 days from now, which is useful for contract periods and payment terms.

How do I calculate a pregnancy due date?

Add 280 days (40 weeks) to the first day of your last menstrual period. Enter that date in our add/subtract calculator and add 280 days to get your estimated due date.
