How to use the tip calculator

Our free tip calculator works out the tip amount and splits the total bill between any number of people. Choose from preset tip percentages of 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% or 25%, or enter a custom amount. The calculator instantly shows the tip amount, total bill including tip, and exactly how much each person pays when splitting.

How is it calculated?

Tip amount = bill total × tip percentage ÷ 100. Total bill = original bill + tip amount. Per person amount = total bill ÷ number of people. The calculator updates in real-time as you change any value, so you always have the latest figures at your fingertips.
